New research (nt. J. Mol. Sci. 2017) examined the impact of a prebiotic, based on Galacto-oligosaccharides (GalOS) with β-1,6 and β-1,3 linkages, on markers of colorectal cancer in Wister rats. The researchers also included an insulin control group and found that both prebiotic treatments decreased concentrations of harmful bacteria.
