Prebiotic Effect of a Kiwifruit polyphenol extract

According to a study published in Frontiers in Nutrition, researchers from Guizhou Medical University in China examined the effect of kiwi fruit as a prebiotic supplement through its ability to mitigate inflammation caused by a high fat diet by reshaping the gut microbiome and assisting the repair of the intestinal barrier through regulation of Bacteroidete, Lactobacillus and, and Bifidobacterium expression.
