Researchers Examine Prebiotic Supplementation in Kidney Transplant Patients to Mitigate infection and GI Upset

According to a paper published in the Journal of Renal Nutrition, researchers from Queensland, in a randomized, controlled feasibility study, investigated the potential for prebiotics to reduce infections and GI upset in patients with kidney transplants. They confirmed feasibility, and showed that the prebiotics significantly reduced the gastrointestinal symptoms.
