Multiple studies have shown that alterations to our gut microbiome environment can have a dramatic impact on health and drive significant changes in immune functioning and prebiotics are emerging as key players in health and wellness.

On June 10, 2021, the Global Prebiotic Association (GPA) hosted a three-part interactive workshop focused on helping to increase understanding of mechanisms for prebiotics, and in particular looking at the science linking prebiotics to immunity, before wrapping up with some practical applications and case studies of how to translate new science on prebiotic mechanisms and immunity into prebiotic product development.  On Demand recordings and slides (where available) are provided below.

Part 1: Prebiotic Mechanisms and Immunity Focus (90 mins)

Our first section of the workshop looks into the science behind how prebiotics work, and their mechanisms of action in the microbiome and we will dig deeper into the science behind prebiotics and immunity, looking at the mechanisms and some of the latest clinical evidence for immune benefits of prebiotics.

Part 2: Prebiotic Product Development & Communication (60 mins)

In our second section we will look at how brands and product developers are using new and emerging data on mechanisms and immune benefits to develop a new generation of finished products that tap into consumer trends, and how responsible brands can leverage science in their communication strategies.

Part 3: Future of Prebiotics Interactive Session (30 min)

During this final session, we will “open the doors” for everyone to engage in discussing surrounding the future of prebiotics.
