Dietary fiber influences the gut microbiome and melanoma immunotherapy response

According to a study published in the journal Science, researchers worked with 438 melanoma patients using Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) as their treatment, to evaluate the impact of a high fiber diet, finding that high dietary fiber (more than 20grams per day) was associated with significantly improved progression-free survival in 128 of the patients, in fact with no probiotic use relative to those who were also supplemented with probiotics.
