For Immediate Release
CHICAGO (October 26, 2022) — The Global Prebiotic Association (GPA), the worldwide resource for prebiotic education, insights and awareness building, is delighted to announce the addition of four new members. Ingredion joins GPA at the Member level and AgriFiber, KiwiEnzyme.com and Lodaat join GPA as Associate Members.
“Interest in prebiotics continues to rise and companies recognize the importance of working together to responsibly build the market,” said GPA Executive Director Len Monheit. “We are thrilled to welcome these new members who represent diverse parts of the industry and continue to expand GPA’s global reach and voice.”
GPA focuses on building awareness of prebiotics globally. Prebiotics play an important role in the human microbiome: their role is to support & feed, increase & produce and balance & optimize. GPA defines a prebiotic as “a product or ingredient that is utilized in the microbiota producing a health or performance benefit. Further, it uniquely defines a prebiotic effect as “a health or performance benefit that arises from alteration of the composition and/or activity of the microbiota, as a direct or indirect result of the utilization of a specific and well defined product or ingredient by microorganisms”.
