According to a paper published in the journal Food & Function, researchers examined the effect of Type 3 resistant starch from Canna edulis on obese mice in a 13 week trial. The researchers found that the fiber increased the diversity of gut microbiota with enrichment of Bifidobacterium and Roseburia and adjusted 26 abnormal metabolites in amino acids and lipid metabolism.
